The right vehicle depends on three things: how many people (or how much stuff) is moving, how far you're going, and how much the time matters. Here's how to decide.
Choose a bike when it's just you and time is short
A bike ride carries one commuter and gets through traffic that leaves cars standing still. It's the natural choice for short and medium trips at rush hour, or whenever you're running late.
- Best for: solo trips, busy roads, light bags.
- Not ideal for: travelling with someone, heavy luggage, very long trips.
Choose a car for comfort, luggage or company
A car takes up to four commuters and their bags. It's the everyday option for commuting, the airport, evenings out and longer trips where comfort matters more than speed.
- Best for: one to four people, luggage, longer distances, regular commutes.
- Tip: schedule your commute to repeat every weekday so it's booked before you wake up.
Choose a bus when the group should arrive together
Once a group grows past four, you can book several cars or one bus. For anything beyond eight or so people, a bus is usually simpler: one booking, one pickup, everyone arrives at the same time, and no one is left coordinating a convoy.
- 16-seater minibus: small groups and team trips.
- 22-seater coaster: church, community and mid-size groups.
- 30-seater coach: events, school outings and large groups.
For events, book ahead. Weekends fill up first.
Choose a van when you're moving things, not people
A van is for goods: moving house, stocking a shop or delivering to a client. Routta vans come in three load sizes:
- 1 ton: a few items or a small load.
- 3 tons: a household move.
- 5 tons: large or commercial loads.
If you're between two sizes, go bigger. A second trip almost always costs more than the extra space.
And when you need something special
For a wedding, a corporate event or VIP guests, an everyday ride may not be the right fit. With Routta Premium Ride you hire a luxury car with a pilot by the hour, and our event car hire page covers how to plan transport for the whole day.
