Welcome to Routta. These Terms of Service outline the rules and regulations for using the Routta digital mobility and e-hailing platform. By accessing or using our app, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.

Note: In this document, individuals seeking transportation are referred to as "Commuters", and independent contractors providing transportation services are referred to as "Transporters".

1. Our Platform Services

Routta provides a technology platform that connects Commuters with independent Transporters. Routta does not provide transportation services directly and is not a transportation carrier. All transportation services are provided by independent Transporters who are not employees or agents of Routta.

2. User Accounts

To use Routta, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Be at least 18 years old to create a Transporter or Commuter account.
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Maintain the security of your account and immediately notify us of any unauthorized use.
  • Be entirely responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Payments and Fares

Using the Routta platform to request a ride will result in charges to the Commuter. Fares are calculated based on base rates, distance, and time.

  • Fares: Commuters will see an estimated fare before confirming a ride. Final charges may vary depending on actual route and traffic conditions.
  • Payments: All payments are processed securely through our third-party payment gateways or via approved mobile finance platforms.
  • Cancellations: Users or Transporters may cancel a ride at any time before the trip begins. A cancellation fee may apply if a Commuter cancels after a Transporter has been dispatched and is en route.

4. Conduct and Prohibited Activities

We expect all Commuters and Transporters to treat each other with respect and professionalism. You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local, state, or federal laws.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone on the platform.
  • Transport illegal substances, dangerous goods, or weapons during a Routta trip.
  • Cause damage to a Transporter's vehicle or maintain an unsafe or unclean vehicle (Transporters).
  • Manipulate the platform to generate fraudulent rides or fares.

5. Transporter Obligations

In addition to the general rules, Transporters must comply with the following:

  • Maintain a valid driver's license, proper vehicle registration, and comprehensive insurance as required by the Nigeria Road Traffic Management Authority.
  • Ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and meets all local safety standards.
  • Operate the vehicle safely, strictly following GPS navigation while applying reasonable leniency for local road closures and dynamic traffic conditions in Ibadan and other operating areas.

6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Routta platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Routta makes no representations or warranties regarding the reliability, timeliness, or safety of the transportation services provided by Transporters.

To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, Routta shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, or lost data arising in connection with your use of the services.

7. Account Suspension and Termination

Routta reserves the right to suspend or permanently deactivate the account of any Commuter or Transporter who violates these Terms of Service, receives consistently poor ratings, or compromises the safety and integrity of the platform.

8. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with specific jurisdiction within Oyo State and Other Operating States. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Ibadan.
