Hiring a premium vehicle is different from booking an everyday ride. You're reserving a specific car, with a pilot, for a block of time. Here's how it works on Routta, and what to look out for wherever you hire.
Car hire vs ride-hailing: what's the difference?
With ride-hailing, you pay for one trip from A to B, and whichever transporter is nearest takes it. With premium car hire, you book a particular vehicle for a set number of hours. The car and pilot stay with you for the whole window, whether that's a wedding day, a run of business meetings or an airport pickup followed by an evening event.
Step 1: Choose the vehicle
In Premium Ride you browse vehicles listed by verified businesses: luxury SUVs, executive sedans and VIP vans. Each listing shows the vehicle's specs, the business, its rating and its prices.
Step 2: Pick a date and a duration
Every listing has an availability calendar. Prices come in tiers set by the business, typically 4, 6 or 12 hours. Choose a tier that covers your whole programme, including waiting time. Overstaying usually costs more than booking a longer block.
Step 3: Pay the rental and the protection deposit
At checkout you pay the rental and a refundable protection deposit. The deposit covers damage or overstay, if any. Routta holds the payment until the hire is complete.
Step 4: The business confirms
The business reviews and accepts your request. Accepting locks the date, so the vehicle can't be double-booked.
Step 5: The hire
The vehicle arrives with a pilot, a professional driver supplied by the business. Self-drive isn't offered. Each listing sets out its rental conditions, for example no smoking, no off-road use and no travel outside the agreed state. Read them before you book.
Step 6: Inspection and your deposit
After the hire, the business records a return inspection. If nothing is wrong, your deposit is released in full. If a deduction applies, for damage or overstay, you receive the inspection report, the itemised deduction and the balance, and you can dispute it.
Cancellation
- 48 hours or more before: full refund of the rental, deposit and service charge.
- Between 24 and 48 hours before: half the rental refunded, and the deposit returned in full.
- Less than 24 hours before: the rental isn't refunded, but the deposit is returned in full.
A checklist before you hire, anywhere
- Is the business verified, and does the listing show its real vehicle?
- Is a pilot included, and what are the rental conditions?
- How long is the hire, and what does overstay cost?
- What is the deposit, and how and when is it returned?
- What's the cancellation policy?
